Happy Summer!!

A little late, but I am really enjoying my summer!  As a teacher, I get spoiled with a break from the typical work day.  However, since I am almost always available to sub at my gym, I have been teaching lots of classes!  In June, there were a few weeks were I taught CXWORX 4-5x in 4 days! Our gym is a little behind on launching the new programs, but we just did BODYFLOW 69 last week.  BODYPUMP 95 is coming up next week and I will be teaming for a bunch of classes.  We are saving CXWORX 19 for mid August.  I have my eye on a CXWORX 20 – AIM 1 in late October, so I am eager to get my hands on the 20th release.  Instructors download their new program music and videos every three months, and we are getting close!

I HAVE been running a lot too! On June 20th I was supposed to do a half marathon.  It was the first race I’ve paid for (wasn’t too expensive) that I’ve skipped.  Up to that point, I wasn’t keeping up with my runs like I should have.  Race day was very hot too and I just decided not to stress over it!  The next weekend, I was signed up to do a half marathon relay with my friend Stephanie.  We had PERFECT weather!! I ran the first half that was a little longer (about 6.7 miles) and averaged a 9:01 min/mile pace overall.

We ended up winning the female relay!  We were so excited to actually win something at a race!!

In July, we started the month by traveling to Canada for Colby’s half Ironman!  He did Ironman Muskoka 70.3 and had a great race.  It was a long drive from Pennsylvania to Muskoka!

Our resort was where the race was held.  It was nice just walking to the start.  They had big slides and trampolines in the lake.  Colby even convinced me to get in the lake!

Now we are almost in August and school will begin on the 24th.  I have been training for my fall marathon and it is the first time using Hal Higdon’s Novice 2 plan.  I had to move a few things around, but I just did my 14 this past Monday!!  I am now on week 8 with a 15 mile run this weekend!!!
